SIGNAL 001
Value can begin when the event ends
An experience may end on the calendar and still remain alive in memory. When that memory can be verifiably connected to an object, a place or a real trace, a new form of value begins to emerge.
The value of an event does not end with its broadcast, its premiere or its final day.
Some of its physical elements survive charged with meaning: an object that was used, a piece of the set, a credential, a fragment of the place where it happened.
On their own, they are little more than material. What transforms them is their demonstrable connection to an experience the audience recognises as unrepeatable.
Authenticity turns memory into something transferable. Scarcity makes it singular. And shared memory allows an element designed for a temporary function to acquire a life afterwards.
In film, sport, music or entertainment, many opportunities appear after the first form: when what was produced, broadcast or experienced leaves behind materials, symbols and connections that can still generate a relationship.
Exploitability is not only about distributing more, adapting formats or opening territories. It also means understanding what value remains once the event’s first form has disappeared.
The question is not only what can continue to be sold.
It is which part of the experience still deserves to be preserved, recognised and transformed into a new relationship with the audience.
